Twice per term, the boys are required to take Ugandan exams.
On this day, we are going to a school in town for mid-terms. Always an adventure.
School buses aren't the only way to school
And here, they are non-existent
Boda-bodas (motorcycle taxis) are my main source of transportation
Having grown up with 6 brothers who all enjoyed motorcycles,
I'm right at home on the back of one
(tho 'sidesaddle' is a new experience)
Our daily 'school' is here on the compound
Each morning,
I meet with the boys in our Classroom hut
(kind of like an African version of 'Little House on the Prairie')
And am challenged to instruct them in Math, English, History, Science and
Most importantly, God's Word, the Bible
Sometimes we have loads of fun,
Sometimes we have stress,
Sometimes we have frustration.
But we always have LOVE.
And we always learn something
(often me more than them)
I am continually reminded that real learning
Comes through teaching
Bless you!
